Buddha Dordenma, Bhutan

Great Buddha Dordenma is a gigantic Shakyamuni Buddha statue that is located amidst the ruins of Kuensel Phodrang, the palace of Sherab Wangchuck, the thirteenth Desi Druk, overlooking the southern approach to Thimphu. Construction was completed on September 25th 2015 in celebration of the 60th anniversary of fourth king Jigme Singye Wangchuck. It is one of the largest Buddha rupas in the world, at a height of 169 feet (51.5 meters).
